Columbus 1919 is an Italian manufacturer specializing in high-performance steel tubing for bicycle frames. Founded in Milan in 1919 by Angelo Luigi Colombo, the company initially focused on industrial tubing before shifting to bicycle components in the 1930s. It has a rich history of innovation, including the development of reinforced molybdenum chrome steel tubes and cold-rolled elliptical fork blades. In 1977, it became fully dedicated to cycling tubing, producing over 900 types of tubes and expanding into carbon forks. Columbus offers a range of specialist steel tubes for both historic and modern bicycle frames, including the SL and SP series made from butted Chromoly steel, and the Spirit series crafted from triple-butted Niobium steel. The company also provides carbon forks and proprietary alloys and components.
