All-America Selections (AAS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to testing and promoting new varieties of seeds and plants for home gardeners in North America. Founded in 1932, AAS is the only national plant trialing organization in the region, operating as a 501(c)(6) entity. The organization was established to provide reliable information about new garden varieties, addressing a need for accurate resources in the gardening community. AAS conducts rigorous annual trials of new plant varieties submitted by breeders worldwide. With over 90 trial sites across diverse growing climates, professional horticulturists evaluate entries based on traits such as disease resistance, growth habit, and yield. The organization has introduced 637 award-winning varieties since its inception, including flowers, vegetables, and herbs. AAS recognizes outstanding varieties through its award system, which includes the prestigious AAS Gold Medal Award and the AAS Award, both highlighting superior performance in the market. AAS remains committed to helping home gardeners identify quality plants that have been independently tested and proven to excel.
