The Belle-Île-en-Mer Tourist Office (OTBI) was created in 1893. It is a Public Industrial and Commercial Establishment, managed by a 21-member Management Committee: 11 local elected representatives sitting on the Community Council and 10 professional or voluntary representatives from the tourism industry. The Tourist Office works: - on behalf of the Communauté de Communes de Belle-île (CCBI), which delegates to it the task of welcoming, informing and promoting tourists; - on behalf of its tourism partners, giving them the visibility they need for their activities and bringing them together. There are many challenges to be met in order to encourage the development of tourism outside the summer season, so as to maintain a year-round life on the island. With this in mind, the CCBI is asking the Belle-Île-en-Mer Tourist Office to : - Welcome and provide information to tourists; - Promote Belle-Île-en-Mer as a tourist destination; - Contribute to exchanges between local and non-local players in the development of tourism; - Give its opinion on projects for collective tourist facilities; - Market tourist services. The central role of the Belle-Île-en-Mer Tourist Office justifies its reclassification as a category 1 tourist office, which will be obtained in 2022, guaranteeing a high level of service. It was also awarded the Qualité Tourisme label in 2015.
