Greenwood Rising is a nonprofit history center located in Tulsa's Greenwood District. It is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Black Wall Street and honoring the victims and survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The center opened in August 2022 and features a 10,000-square-foot exhibition space that highlights stories of resilience, entrepreneurship, and racial history. The center offers immersive exhibits that recount the history of Black Wall Street, including a lobby film that introduces visitors to the area's significance. One of the key exhibits, "The Greenwood Spirit," explores the interactions among various communities and showcases the economic rise of Greenwood through engaging displays. Greenwood Rising serves as a platform for community engagement, encouraging dialogue and reflection on the legacy of Greenwood and America's racial history.
