Mzemo's ultimate mission is to educate the general public by providing a forum that strives to highlight issues of relevance to human rights, racism, freedom, and democracy in the form of daily news, commentary, and more. Mzemo doesn't speak on behalf of any political party or champion any specific political agenda. The biggest challenge Mzemo faces is getting our work in front of the people who most need to see it: the curious but not yet engaged; those who know something is wrong but don't have access to honest information; and activists everywhere who need a resource to go deeper, continue learning, and reflect on our next steps. We publish original on-the-ground reporting, analysis by scholars and personal stories. As the site has grown, we have developed a large group of regular contributors who are committed to high journalistic standards of documentable evidence and reliable sourcing.
