SeatGuru / TripAdvisor

SeatGuru was an independent platform that launched in October 2001, providing airline seating information through interactive, color-coded seating charts. It highlighted seat quality, legroom, and other factors to help frequent flyers choose better seats. At its peak, SeatGuru covered over 700 aircraft types across more than 100 airlines. In March 2007, SeatGuru was acquired by TripAdvisor, enhancing its travel content offerings. The platform continued to serve users until maintenance declined after 2020, leading to outdated information. SeatGuru officially shut down around 2025, with its domain now redirecting to TripAdvisor.
