Founded by Josh Leppard following a death on a mine site on New Year's Eve 2018. A dozer rolled down an embankment at night, landing upside down in a pool of mud and water. The first responders were required to traverse down the steep embankment over large rocks, with minimal visibility carrying several heavy steel D-shackles that weighed 58kgs each in order to try to put the dozer back on its feet. Josh was one of those first responders. Following the incident, Josh knew there was a better way. Combining his knowledge of mining and his love of sailing. The Soft Rigging Solutions Poseidon Shackle concept was born, a safe replacement for the traditionally used heavy steel shackle. The Poseidon Shackle weighs only 13.7kgs which is four times lighter than the equivalent steel D-Shackle that weighs 58.68kgs. Soft Rigging Solutions now offers a full ultra-light, ultra-safe, and ultra-strong range which includes shackles to suit various tasks, slings and purpose built recovery trailers to house the recovery equipment.
