Square Dranken Nederland BV is an international beverage wholesaler. Liquor store – How it started The wholesale activities of Square Dranken started in 1980 from a liquor store in the heart of the city of Groningen. The liquor store provided the local hotels, cafés and restaurants (on-trade) with wine and spirits. Because the liquor store was located on a rectangular square, the name became Square Dranken B.V. and later Square Dranken Nederland B.V. In the meantime Square Dranken Nederland B.V. has grown into an European wholesaler with a finely meshed network throughout Europe. The building on Jozef Israëlplein has been exchanged for a stately mansion in the city centre of Groningen. Spirits for Rock Square Dranken Nederland BV is also an official distributor of spirits, wines and beers of Rock bands or Rock related drinks. Under the flag Spirits for Rock, a fan-based platform, Square handles the distribution of these drinks throughout Europe in cooperation with the management of the various bands and various producers or suppliers.
