Each store prevents an average of 75 tons of food waste annually. Wefood's inventory consists of surplus groceries that traditional supermarkets discard for various reasons, all verified safe under Danish food regulations. The selection varies daily based on donations and includes food items from major suppliers. In addition to groceries, some locations offer second-hand goods such as clothing and books. Wefood operates six stores across Denmark, staffed entirely by volunteers, fostering community engagement and responsible consumption. The chain has seen significant customer interest, attracting over 10,000 shoppers in its first two months and experiencing a surge in sales during the COVID-19 pandemic.
